MAL JENKINS BSc CEng DMS
Mal Jenkins has extensive experience in implementing change, improving teamwork, and strengthening leadership and interpersonal skills at all levels in many public and private organisations.Mal helps to resolve problems in groups who are not working well together; he has facilitated many small, and large, sometimes difficult groups with a blend of humour and structure. His open manner and diagnostic skills help to get to the bottom of complex issues in communities and work groups.
During more than twenty years as a consultant, Mal has been primarily engaged in eight main areas:
- The design and facilitation of work-based team building programmes for existing management or departmental groups, including director and senior level teams.
- The design and delivery of management development and personal development programmes.
- The design and implementation of organisational change through Strategic Planning and Organisation Development programmes.
- The facilitation of major change projects.
- One to one coaching of managers at all levels on development and performance issues. Mal is trained in the use of psychometric profiles and will use these where appropriate.
- The design and delivery of creative and participative training programmes to meet specific skills requirements, such as coaching, influencing, appraisal, interviewing, teamwork, induction.
- The diagnosis of organisation training needs.
Assignments have included team building and change management programmes with multi-cultural groups in Asia, Africa, and mainland Europe. Mal has consistently built long term relationships with his clients, many dating from his first consultancy assignments to the present. Prior to his career in consultancy Mal was a project engineer and engineering manager in British Gas, having responsibility for the supply and maintenance of gas supplies and equipment within a district of South Wales. He later headed the management training and development unit in British Gas Wales.
